Interesting Cleaning Facts

Everybody has at least one mop at home and uses it really often. A simple cleaning tool, that has no substitute when it comes to quick floor wipe-off. This is a rag or cloth, or some sort of absorbent material, attached to a stick. It's really useful it does a lot of work throughout the home cleaning process.

The word mop dates back in the English dictionary to 1496. In the year 1837 Jacob Howe, an American inventor, received U.S. Patent for mop holder.

Today there are different types of mops like yarn mop for wet use, for instance. It is usually mounted to a stick, which is the handle and the mop is fastened by turning clockwise. It's used for floor cleaning. All you got to do is to soak it in a bucket of water and cleaning solution. After that you have to sweep against the floor. Some buckets have a thing, a wringer, where the excess water from the mop is strained. Another type of mop is dry one, used mainly for dust brushing. It is made from yarn and microfibre, it is used before the wet floor cleaning. The dry mop could be used as a replacement of the broom. From time to time the yarn part should be detached from the handle and washed by hand or in the washing machine.

Such simple things like the broom and the mop revolutionized our lives, in one imperceptible way. Invented, centuries ago, they still play major role in the home cleaning process. And professional cleaning companies are using them too. Services like end of lease cleaning, carpet cleaning Melbourne as a major city got, are pretty familiar with the power of such simple devices.
